Pintxos, that’s why you go to Txapeldun Egarri. This basque tavern is as traditional as it gets. Tapas are known as pintos in northern Spain, and this is one of the best places for pintxos in Barcelona. It’s a bit out of the way if you are in the center of Barcelona, but if you’re looking for some top-notch Basque food in Barcelona, this is a great choice. The restaurant is located outside of the main touristic areas and 15 minutes by taxi from Plaza Catalunya. This is a good option if you would like to enjoy real locals in Barcelona!

Basque gastronomy: San Sebastian is the city in the world with more Michelin starred restaurants per square mile…. People from the basque country are so proud of their local produce (fish, meat, vegetables) and enjoy so much getting together to cook or simply eat, that basque culture can simply not be understood without food. Pintxos (local name for tapas) have evolved into small creative dishes whilst fine dining is possible both at traditional asadores or avant-garde restaurants. Txacoli is a local white wine, a perfect pairing for local fish dishes.
