The Pavilions Madrid Hotel – Review
The Hotel offers elegant and modern rooms just 50 meters from Colón square in the center of Madrid. The hotel features a small private garden and a relaxing bar and terrace.
Rooms
The hotel boasts 25 spacious rooms and three suites with fantastic terraces that offer splendid views of the city. The decoration of the rooms uses a great combination of colours, that along with the wooden floors results in a very elegant contemporary atmosphere.
All rooms at the hotel feature hydro-massage showers. The mini-bar is reasonably priced and the bathrooms are also spacious and come with a marble design and a garden-like decoration.
Location
The hotel is right next to Madrid’s top shopping area, the Salamanca neighborhood. Serrano street offers the most upscale boutiques in the city, whilst in Goya street, you will be able to find many important brands, including two El Cortes Ingles department stores.
The hotel is very close to the wax museum of Madrid, one of the most visited monuments in the city. Other important sights in the area include the National Library of Spain. and, also at 5 minutes from the Grand Casino of Madrid.
The location of the Pavillions Madrid is also very safe. Madrid is a very safe city, but this area due to its proximity to government buildings is amongst the safest.
Overall Review
The Pavillions Madrid is a hotel that will please both business and leisure travelers. It is well located, at a quiet street, yet close to the main shopping district, the metro network, and at 10 minutes by taxi to the city´s top sights or even less than a 20 minutes walk to El Prado museum. The bus station to the airport is located in Colon square.
As with other hotels of this small chain, the Pavillions has its own character. Art is present all over the hotel. Its decoration makes use of local modern art. Some pieces are simply fantastic and add lots of character to the hotel. There is no doubt why this hotel is frequently used by travelers to Madrid in the media and art business.
The Pavillions Madrid is most probably a perfect match for you if you enjoy staying at a good location but where you can still feel the less touristic part of the city, “the real life”. The rooms will please probably everybody, not matter if you enjoy more classical or modern decoration.
This is a small hotel (only 28 rooms) so do not expect the services of large hotels (if you enjoy large hotels the Gran Melia Fenix is probably best for you, also located in Colon). But the hotel has great features: we love its small gym with city views. Suites have terraces with great views and there is also a family room (suite) that can sleep as many as six people.
If you would like to feel almost at an art gallery during your stay in Madrid, do not hesitate it!
