Close to the tower of Calahorra, in the center of Córdoba, we can find this small, unassuming, and delicious traditional tavern. Taverna la Espumita is as authentic as it gets: dimly lit, informal, wooden chairs, everything you would expect from a southern Spanish tavern. They serve excellent homemade Andalusian classics. The restaurant enjoys an amazing location on the bank of the Guadalquivir river, on the opposite bank of the majestic Mezquita. The restaurant is within walking distance from the famous Roman Bridge and the Calahorra Tower. The restaurant is also located within walking distance of the cities Alcazar and the San Rafael bridge.
The restaurant is quaint and authentic, and the menu reflects that. The restaurant offers delicious, homemade Andalusian cooking including a variety of local delicacies including Montillana Artichokes, Flemenquines, and Salmorejo. They also offer a child’s menu for their youngest patrons.
All dishes follow simple, straightforward recipes and preparations using excellent ingredients and the result is superb.
You can find cheaper options in Córdoba, and more expensive ones as well. That being said, the quality of the meal and the excellent location and ambiance of the restaurant make it a great “value” option.
