Hotel Hotel Único Madrid – Review
The Hotel Único Madrid is housed within a refurbished XIX century building in the Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid and features a wonderful interior patio garden and a 2 Michelin star restaurant run by chef Ramon Freixa. The Unico is one of our top recommended hotels in our city of Madrid travel guide.
Rooms
Rooms at the Unico hotel have very high ceilings, large windows and their modern design includes elegant and refined furniture. The decoration uses fantastic wooden floors that match with the wooden headboards.
The overall feeling invites to relaxation, with lots of light and spacious rooms even though King Size beds are in place.
The rooms offer free WIFI, flat-screen satellite TV, bathrobes and slippers and a pillow menu.
The bathrooms are also spacious and are decorated with light marble. All bathrooms include a bathtub and a walking shower.
Location
The hotel is 500 meters from the Recoletos train station and the Colón metro station. It is also just 10 minutes on foot from the Retiro park. The National Library is very close to the hotel, as well as the main upscale shopping street in Madrid: Serrano.
You will easily find a good number of quality restaurants in the area.
The main touristic sites can be accessed in 5 minutes by taxi or some 25 minutes walking.
Services
The hotel is beautifully designed and offers a full gym.
The Único Hotel also has several lounging areas, a library, and a wellness center. Guests can also enjoy personal training and personal shopping services.
Overall Review
Hotel Unico is one of the most luxurious hotels in Madrid. It is a perfect hotel both for business and leisure travelers to Madrid.
You will especially enjoy the Unico if you enjoy hotels located at great historical buildings, but with very modern facilities. Despite this is a boutique hotel, it offers a complete wellness center and a business center.
One of the top highlights of the hotel is its restaurant, one of the best restaurants in Madrid.
In case you prefer to stay very close to the main tourist attractions the Unico may not be good for you.
We love the library and the elegance of the XIXth century building where it stands.
