The Hotel Fénix Gran Meliá is a luxurious hotel located right next to Colón square in the Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid.

During the summer months, the hotel opens its terrace that looks out onto Colón square, though this can only be accessed by customers in red level rooms. Being at one of these rooms also provides access to an exclusive lounge.
The hotel also features a small but complete fitness center and butler and secretarial services. Spa lovers will for sure enjoy the luxurious thai style spa area where a number of therapies and massages can be requested.

The hotel is located right next to the Hard Rock Café of Madrid, 20 minutes on foot from the center of town, the Gran Vía, and the Prado and Reina Sofia museums.
Overall Review
The Hotel Melia Fenix has been since the 1950s one of the most important and luxurious hotels in Madrid.
Many famous personalities (including the Beatles, or Bill Clinton have stayed at the Meli Fenix. This is a tasteful and classical hotel. If you enjoy modern design the Melia Fenix is probably not for you.
The hotel is not at walking distance from the city´s top attractions, but getting to these by taxi would not take more than 10 minutes.
The hotel is very well located, near Serrano street, the most important luxury shopping street in Madrid. It is also very close to the National Library and the Wax museum of Madrid.
We believe there are other more trendy or luxurious 5 star hotels in Madrid, but the Fenix Gran Melia is indeed a very good option. Probably the best two things at the hotel are its luxurious spa and also the rooftop terrace (access only possible for red level guests though) If you are lucky enough and can afford a penthouse suite, then you will get a superb terrace with shaded pergolas and hot tubs.
