WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS GETAWAY
- Stay in a hotel of high historical and artistic value
- Enjoy La Alhambra staying within the palatial complex
- The monumental character and the cultural wealth of Granada

ABOUT THE HOTEL
The Parador de Granada has occupied the building of the Convent of San Francisco de La Alhambra since 1945. It was the first monastery that the Catholic Monarchs –Queen Isabella I of Castile and King Ferdinand II of Aragon– ordered to build after conquering the city in 1492. The monastery was built on an old nazari palace, so the mixture of artistic styles is really amazing. In addition, in this monastery the Catholic Monarchs were buried while the Royal Chapel was been finished, where nowadays they rest. As you can see, it is a historic construction and the perfect place to stay in the wonderful city of Granada.

The Parador de Granada is surrounded by the romantic gardens of La Alhambra. Inside, there is still a room in the original Nazari palace, known as the Nazari Hall. What further fascinates is the Renaissance cloister, the furniture and works of art that decorate the different corners of the hotel.

You cannot miss the exquisite menu of the Parador de Granada, with which you can enjoy the spectacular Andalusian cuisine, with dishes, such as salmorejo, beans with ham, as well as Monkfish in Mozarabic Salsa, Cabrito Alpujarreño style and Cake of the Convent of San Francisco. The kitchen opening hours:
- Breakfast 7:30am - 11:00am
- Lunch 1:00pm - 4:00pm
- Dinner 8:00pm - 10:30pm

GASTRONOMIC GETAWAY IN GRANADA: THINGS TO DO
With this getaway to the Parador de Granada 4* you will discover first hand all the secrets of La Alhambra, the jewel in the crown of the tourist attractions of Spain. Inside you cannot miss the wonderful palaces and courtyards, such as the Patio de los Leones, the Palace of Comares or the Patio de los Arrayanes. In addition, you must visit the Alcazaba, the Palace of Carlos V or the Church of Santa María de La Alhambra. It is an absolute must to visit the Generalife, a palatial villa that was used as a place of retreat by the kings of Granada, being a haven of peace surrounded by gardens, flowers, waterfalls and tranquillity. The magic of the Alhambra captivates everyone who visits it including Washington Irving, an American author who wrote in 1829 the famous "Tales of the Alhambra" after visiting the monument.

Another monument that you have to visit in Granada is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Spain. Next to it is the Royal Chapel, built upon order of the Catholic Monarchs as a family pantheon. Inside you can visit the wonderful tombs of the monarchs, as well as the tombs of Juana "La Loca" and Felipe "El Hermoso" and the museum that preserves personal objects of the Catholic Monarchs, like the crown of Queen Isabella I of Castile or the sword of King Ferdinand II of Aragon.

The Albaicín is the most unique district of Granada. Its narrow streets and white houses make this area the most picturesque in the city. You cannot miss the Mirador de San Nicolás, where you will enjoy the most beautiful panoramic view of La Alhambra.
